ALANNA BARBONE VAN KAMPEN

Alanna Van Kampen has a professional dance background. She began dancing at age 4 here in New Jersey.  After high school, she spent 6 years training, dancing and teaching at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School in New York City.  Alanna also danced with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular for 6 seasons and has performed in various classical ballets and musical theatre shows and has been teaching ballet for over 13 years.

Alanna was introduced to the Pilates Method in 2003 and was immediately hooked.  She spent the next few years taking Pilates and experiencing all of its benefits in mind, body and spirit.  While dancing, Alanna was badly injured with bi-lateral stress fractures in her heels.  Unable to dance for nearly 10 months, she stayed in shape and maintained flexibility through Pilates, and connected even more with the movements of the Pilates method.  During this time, she decided to share the benefits that Pilates had offered over the years by getting certified in Pilates Mat and later a full certification.  Alanna has a comprehensive certification through Core Pilates NYC where she spent over 500 hours learning, observing and teaching the Pilates method.  She has taught Pilates at various studios in New Jersey and decided to open a studio of her own.

It was through dedicated practice of Pilates that Christina was able to transform her body, losing close to 70 pounds over the course of two years. Wanting to share the Method to empower others, Christina was certified by the DualStar™ Pilates Institute in 2015. She most recently completed continuing education with Movement Science Made Simple’s workshop Look, Listen, Push, Pull – which focused on training freedom and support in the head, neck, and shoulders.
